Down the rabbit hole… December 30, 2006

Posted by April Ayres-Griffiths in bendigo, mine.

Yesterday Melody and I went on a tour of the Central Deborah Mine located in Bendigo. It was fun, and although both of us were a little nervous about the prospect of wandering around 61 meters below the ground, the tour was fantastic and we both learnt a lot about mining to boot. Sure, maybe I’ll never apply that knowledge, but it was a great experience.

After the mine, we hoped to grab some Mexican from a nearby restaurant but unfortunately it seems it closes between lunch and dinner. Still after some food from the food court at the local shopping center, we hopped on the bus home. Melody took some photos and a little video from the trip and once we get them off the camera I’ll post some here.

Right now, we are sitting at the kitchen table at my parents place trying to stay cool. According to the weather service, its currently 31 degrees Celsius.
