A timeline… November 14, 2007

Two weeks ago Make appointment with our family doctor (in my parents home town) for Melody to go see them.
Apply for leave well in advance, so that I can take Melody to said doctor.
Arrange with brother to pick us up from Bendigo to get to appointment on time.
Last night Doctors office calls, says doctor is no longer working that day. Asks if we could come tomorrow (which is impossible). Eventually we agree to see another doctor we haven’t seen before.
This morning Dad called. My brother has had his shifts changed on him and can no longer pick us up.
Scramble to change our plans again.

Tomorrow Buy umbrella, just in case a stray elephant falls from the sky.

And I don’t bear any ill will to anyone but this is a ridiculous sequence of events.

*frustrated*

For Melody:

I do not wake her,
Hoping her dreams are pleasant,
My angel sleeping.

Rain… and some more rain… November 4, 2007

It was terribly wet last night (and actually still is).  At about 1:30am and I heard the sound of running water in the bathroom.  It seems there is a hole in the roof, and when it rains heavily the water pools in the ceiling cavity and then trickles down through the light fitting into the bathroom.

In all honesty there are plenty of worse places in the house that the leak could have chosen.  Still it means I need to contact the estate agent once again.  We are still waiting on a resolution on the issues with our hot water service.  I really hope getting this leak fixed won't take as long as it seems to be taking for that.

Later today we will head out and do our usual Sunday food shopping on Glenferrie Road.  The supermarkets there have some great specials on Sundays.  We might also go to the computer swap meet in Malvern as well.  Later on though we plan to pop around and visit some friends of ours.

I'm very glad of the winter jacket that spotted for me at the Op shop.  I suspect today is going to be the day it will earn its keep.
